Comments Home built in 1830 by Jewish-German settler Adolphus Sterne, who played a key role in the social and political life of early Texas. Said to be the oldest frame house still standing in Texas. Many famous Texans stayed with Sterne, including Davy Crockett, Chief Bowles of the Cherokees and Sam Houston.
